The Darla Foundation (aka Cause 4 Paws Rescue) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) rescue based in the south suburbs of Chicago. We are an all volunteer, no-kill group that runs solely with the help of our volunteers, foster homes, and donations. Our dogs are mainly rescued from shelters, but also taken from other urgent situations. They are then fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped and placed in a foster home to learn love, comfort, and basic obedience. When they are ready, we find the perfect family through our thorough adoption process and send our dogs to their forever home, where we commit to checking in on their progress throughout their lifetime.
Our founder lost her beloved pit bull Darla to brain cancer on April 30th, 2010. We ask that you take a moment to learn more about pet cancer, then spread the word to friends and family to create further awareness. She is the reason why we fight as hard as we do. There are so many more in her situation that we need to help. You can read Darla’s story here – From Bait Dog to Butterfly.
Donations of money or time are always greatly appreciated to assist us in continuing this mission.
Save a life – Adopt, don’t shop – and please, spay and neuter.
